What to look for
Signs Your Roof Needs A Repair
You do not have to climb up to know. Most roof faults show themselves from the ground or from indoors. If you spot any of these on your house, ring us and we will take a proper look.
- A stain on a ceiling or chimney breast - if it grows or darkens after rain, water is getting through your roof somewhere above it.
- Slates or tiles out of line - one that has slipped leaves a gap, and the ones around it on your roof are often loose too.
- Bits in the gutter or on the ground - broken slate, tile or mortar on your path usually came off your roof.
- Daylight in the loft - if you can see sky from your loft, rain can get in the same way.
- A sagging line along the ridge or eaves - a dip you can see from the street means we should check what is holding your roof up.
- Damp or a musty smell upstairs - it can be a slow leak that never drips, which you want found early.
